Clear facts. No alarm-app drama.

The alarm that won't stop until you've done your push-ups

Prop the phone up, drop into position, and RiseProof counts your reps — the camera watches your elbows actually bend and extend. The alarm keeps ringing until you hit the count you set the night before. By rep ten, going back to bed stops making sense.

How the push-up mission actually works

The camera watches your body's position and verifies each rep's actual motion — elbows bending, then straightening. That makes it much harder to cheat than apps that just count phone wobble: waving the phone up and down doesn't look like a push-up. It counts the honest ones.

One thing we're explicit about: everything happens on your phone, live, and is immediately discarded. No photo or video is ever recorded, stored, or uploaded — the mission even works in airplane mode, because there's nothing to send and nowhere to send it.

Prefer thinking to moving? Math, typing, and memory missions are one tap away. Want movement without the floor? The steps mission counts a walk, and Movement Match verifies a stretch you recorded at bedtime.

Why exercise on waking helps (carefully stated)

Sleep researchers describe the groggy period after waking as sleep inertia, and physical movement and cognitive engagement are among the common-sense ways people push through it faster. We won't promise physiological miracles — see our blog post on the science of mission-based waking for what the research does and doesn't say. What we can say plainly: it is much harder to fall back asleep after twenty push-ups than after slapping a snooze button.

If push-ups aren't your morning

The alarm underneath is the same for every mission: it survives restarts on Android, rings through silent mode, and snoozing can be limited or turned off entirely. If you want the off-switch physically away from the bed, the QR-code mission makes you walk to a code taped in the kitchen — physics as the enforcement mechanism.

Common questions

Does it use the camera to watch my push-ups?

Yes — that's how it counts honest reps. All the checking happens on your phone: no photo or video is recorded, stored, or uploaded, and the mission works in airplane mode.

Can I cheat the push-up counter?

It's much harder than with apps that just sense phone movement — RiseProof verifies real elbow motion, not wobble. If you want something physically uncheatable, use the QR-code mission with a code placed in another room.

How many push-ups can I require?

You choose the rep count per alarm. Start small — a mission you'll actually do beats an ambitious one you'll grow to hate. Our streak guide covers this.
