Alarmy vs Erly vs RiseProof: an honest comparison

Let's get the awkward disclosure out of the way first: of the three apps in this comparison, ours is the one you can't install yet. RiseProof hasn't launched — both store listings say "coming soon" and the only button on our site joins a waitlist. Alarmy and Erly are real, shipping products you could be using tomorrow morning. Any comparison that hides that isn't a comparison; it's an ad. So here's the honest version.

Alarmy: the incumbent, and it earned it

Alarmy publishes more than 110 million downloads and its maturity shows. It offers a broad mission set, Wake Up Check, sleep analysis, snore detection and sleep sounds. If you want the most established, feature-rich mission alarm available today, it deserves serious consideration.

Alarmy's official website describes free essentials and optional premium enhancements, but it does not publish one universal current price. Check the offer in your own store and region rather than relying on old annualized estimates. The full sourced side-by-side is at RiseProof vs Alarmy.

Erly: the psychology play, and the streak design is genuinely clever

Erly comes at waking from the accountability angle. Its official site publishes camera-verified missions, streaks, progress history, bedtime app limits, and tasks including push-ups, math, Bible verses and sky photos. That creates a thoughtful routine around both bedtime and waking.

Erly's public site does not document whether every mission works offline, whether an account is required, or one universal current price. We will not guess. More in RiseProof vs Erly.

RiseProof: the bet we're making

RiseProof's planned launch price is $19.99, once. Not per year — once, because the app has no servers to fund. Every mission — math, typing, shake, camera-counted push-ups, photo match, QR scan, movement match, memory, steps — is verified by your phone itself, offline, with no account and no ads. Our build system fails the release if the wake-up path so much as touches the network. The free tier is one alarm with three missions, and it's never crippled.

What we can't offer yet: a track record, or an install button. Alarmy has years of iteration we don't; Erly has streak psychology refinements we've only partially matched. If you need a mission alarm this week, install one of them — genuinely. If the shape you want is pay once, everything on-device, nothing phoning home, that's the gap we built RiseProof to fill, and the waitlist is how you find out when it's real.

The one-table summary, in words

  • Broadest published feature set: Alarmy, with missions plus sleep and wake-up tools.
  • Strong bedtime-to-morning routine: Erly, with missions, streaks, progress and bedtime app limits.
  • Pay once, fully on-device: RiseProof, $19.99 planned launch price — once it launches. That last clause is the honest part.
Earn your silence.
